Have you noticed sofas, mattresses, piles of branches growing on our sidewalks? HPCIA recently solicited City of Atlanta’s help with this issue, and much of the bulk has been cleared. Please follow the city’s pick-up policies to keep our sidewalks clear.
1) Is the city taking yard trimmings? Yes the city will take up to 20 bags of yard trimmings with your regular garbage, but it may take longer than usual for them to be removed 2) If I put out large items such as sofas, appliances, or piles of branches on the sidewalk, will someone come and take these away?
No! The city no longer comes regularly to sweep the neighborhood. These items need to be scheduled for pick-up. Also note that due to COVID, any item that is too large to fit in your bin needs to be scheduled for pick-up.
