We will have a neighborhood cleanup on Saturday, September 5. We will meet on the basketball court next to what used to be the Home Park Learning Center at 1015 Tumlin St NW at 9:00am. Iced bottled water and donuts will be provided! If you drive, the parking lot of City Baptist Church will be available to park in next door (across the street from the basketball court).

Home Park neighbors –
We made the news as a neighborhood at the epicenter of Atlanta’s short term rental explosion.
Have you noticed sofas, mattresses, piles of branches growing on our sidewalks? HPCIA recently solicited City of Atlanta’s help with this issue, and much of the bulk has been cleared. Please follow the city’s pick-up policies to keep our sidewalks clear.
1) Is the city taking yard trimmings? Yes the city will take up to 20 bags of yard trimmings with your regular garbage, but it may take longer than usual for them to be removed 2) If I put out large items such as sofas, appliances, or piles of branches on the sidewalk, will someone come and take these away?
Atlanta neighborhoods have seen a recent explosion in short term rentals (ie Airbnb). ATL Neighbors is a local community group working to identify issues relating to short term rentals, with the goal of influencing the city to create and enforce a plan to address these businesses in our neighborhoods. ATL Neighbors has reached out to communities across Atlanta with a questionnaire to determine what impact these businesses are having on residents. The HPCIA board is conducting a survey of our sidewalks to determine which are in need of repair. Council member Antonio Brown’s office has agreed to help us get the repairs done, and they are asking us for a list of the most urgent sidewalk issues in the neighborhood. Above please find a map of the neighborhood depicting the status of our sidewalks.
Home Park neighbors – Protests are expected at Atlantic Station starting at 4:00 this afternoon.
Also, there is a 9:00 curfew in Atlanta again this evening.
