HPCIA Board Nominations Deadline
HPCIA is seeking motivated neighbors to run for board positions. Nominations are open through November, with the deadline being November 30th. Interested members in good standing should email communications@homepark.org. All positions are available, but the President position requires prior board service.
14th Street Resurfacing Begins

HPCIA October Community Meeting & District 3 & 9 Candidates Forum
Join the community to learn about neighborhood happenings, meet your councilmembers to discuss city business and quality of life issues, and speak with the Atlanta Police Department’s code compliance officer. Attendees can also meet District 3 candidate Perrin Bostic and District 9 candidate Charles Bourgeois. Pizza will be served, offering a chance to socialize with neighbors.
APS Comprehensive Facilities Master Planning Public Meeting
A public meeting to discuss and provide feedback on the Atlanta Public Schools Comprehensive Long-Range Facilities Plan. The plan may include shutting down underutilized schools, redistricting, and combining campuses. Details on specific times and locations (virtual/in-person) are available on the project website.
I DO MUSIC 5k celebrating Patchwerk Recording Studios 30th Anniversary
Event organizer Curtis Daniel is sponsoring an I DO MUSIC 5k. The race will start and finish at 1094 Hemphill Avenue, with a route including 14th Street, West Peachtree Street, 10th Street, and Northside Drive. Hemphill Avenue detour will use Curran; Ethel Street detour will use Hampton Street.
APS Comprehensive Facilities Master Planning Scenarios Survey Deadline
Provide your input on the Atlanta Public Schools Comprehensive Long-Range Facilities Plan scenarios. The survey was originally due September 15th but has been extended. Your opinion is needed to influence decisions on school utilization, redistricting, and campus combinations.
Trees Atlanta Tree Planting Event
Trees Atlanta will be planting trees throughout Home Park. Residents interested in having a tree planted in the strip between their sidewalk and the curb, or in their front yard, should reach out to the Trees Atlanta representative listed in the newsletter. The exact date is dependent on weather conditions.
Holly Street Park Volunteer Workday #2
- Gloves: Bring your own work gloves.
- Recommended clothing: Long pants and long sleeves are recommended as you will be in close contact with plants that could scratch your skin. All volunteers need closed-toed shoes or boots, clothes that can get dirty.

Tools: We will provide some tools, but we encourage you to bring your own, any of the following tools would be helpful: hand pruners, hand saw, soil knife, loppers.
- Drinking water: We strongly recommend you bring drinking water in reusable containers. No one-time-use plastic bottles, please.
- Allergy medication: If you’ve experienced life-threatening allergic reactions to insects, please come prepared with your own emergency medicine, such as an auto-injector or oral medication. Please notify the coordinator of your need for medication in the case of an allergic attack.
