Hello Home Park Neighbors, Trees Atlanta recently reached out to us and they are interested in planting trees in Home Park! Using funds from the city and elbow grease from volunteers, they plant trees along sidewalks, in parks, and even in your own front yard (if you’d like) completely for free.
In a recent audit of our canopy, they noted that State Street has a lot of sun exposure and not many trees planted in the right of way and felt it could benefit from more trees. They are interested in planting trees along State Street, and anywhere else in Home Park we feel we need more trees. They can plant in the right-of-way or on your property. And they will choose species of trees that are site appropriate and will not interfere with sidewalks or power lines to ensure the trees will live long healthy lives in our community. They can even cut concrete in some circumstances to create new sites for trees!
The plan is to plant the trees in the fall of 2020.
