Holly Street Park Cleanup – 8/22/26 @ 9:00am
August 22 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Dear Neighbors,
The HP volunteers made great progress on Saturday July 11th at the Holly Street Park clean-up day (see the attached pics). And there’s more work to do! We are asking you all to sign up for the volunteer dates below, and would love if the community would especially support the clean up day on Saturday August 8th, where Councilman Amos and his staff will attend to help clean up the park.
- VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP DETAILS:
- We will run designated park clean-up dates the following Saturday’s this summer: 7/25, 8/8, 8/22 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- If you want to volunteer for a Saturday clean-up please email the Parks Committee email address so we can accommodate you better, or just show up and we’ll get to work!: communications@homepark.org
- If you can’t meet on a Saturday then Jesse will coordinate a time with you to volunteer. Email Jesse here: communications@homepark.org
- Volunteers, please sign the Volunteer Time Sheet on the day you volunteer (volunteer hours = fundraising $)
- HOLLY STREET PARK GOALS:
- Clear Out: We will continue to clean up the dense brush on the left side of park, from the tall dead tree to the back of the property. The goal is to create a more useable park space, creating a prettier path to the Lyle St park entrance, and getting the park “construction ready” for the next phase of development
- Fundraise Through Volunteering: your volunteer hours count as fundraising dollars for the Park Pride matching grant process so please sign the volunteer time sheets when you volunteer
- Move Forward with Park Development: Deanine, Kathy, and Jesse met with Nick Panetta of 2 Square Feet landscape design group to look at how to get the park development moving forward. Park Pride’s Andrew White recommended Nick to help us develop a simpler master plan that shows how both entrances can be used (e.g., making it ADA accessible) and making the park more useable for the community (e.g., potential dog run, garden, etc.). More to come on this.
Thank you for your volunteer efforts and we look forward to seeing you this summer!
Regards,
