SUMMARY:Holly Street Park Cleanup – 7/25/26 @ 9:00am
DESCRIPTION:Dear Neighbors\, \nThe HP volunteers made great progress on Saturday July 11th at the Holly Street Park clean-up day (see the attached pics). And there’s more work to do! We are asking you all to sign up for the volunteer dates below\, and would love if the community would especially support the clean up day on Saturday August 8th\, where Councilman Amos and his staff will attend to help clean up the park. \n\nVOLUNTEER SIGN-UP DETAILS:\n\nWe will run designated park clean-up dates the following Saturday’s this summer: 7/25\, 8/8\, 8/22 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.\nIf you want to volunteer for a Saturday clean-up please email the Parks Committee email address so we can accommodate you better\, or just show up and we’ll get to work!: communications@homepark.org\nIf you can’t meet on a Saturday then Jesse will coordinate a time with you to volunteer. Email Jesse here: communications@homepark.org\nVolunteers\, please sign the Volunteer Time Sheet on the day you volunteer (volunteer hours = fundraising $)\n\n\n\n\nHOLLY STREET PARK GOALS:\n\nClear Out: We will continue to clean up the dense brush on the left side of park\, from the tall dead tree to the back of the property. The goal is to create a more useable park space\, creating a prettier path to the Lyle St park entrance\, and getting the park “construction ready” for the next phase of development\nFundraise Through Volunteering: your volunteer hours count as fundraising dollars for the Park Pride matching grant process so please sign the volunteer time sheets when you volunteer\n\n\n\n\nMove Forward with Park Development: Deanine\, Kathy\, and Jesse met with Nick Panetta of 2 Square Feet landscape design group to look at how to get the park development moving forward. Park Pride’s Andrew White recommended Nick to help us develop a simpler master plan that shows how both entrances can be used (e.g.\, making it ADA accessible) and making the park more useable for the community (e.g.\, potential dog run\, garden\, etc.). More to come on this.\n\nThank you for your volunteer efforts and we look forward to seeing you this summer! \nRegards\,

SUMMARY:HPCIA September Land Use Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This month we have one item on the agenda for Land Use which will be held via Zoom on September 15th at 7 pm. \n538 Ethel Street:  This agenda item regards V-26-100 which is pending before the BZA. Redevelopment proceeded on the property and the city has issued stop work orders and required new permits.  The owner doesn’t agree with the city’s new permit requirements or the stop work order and is appealing these actions. \nThis is scheduled to go before NPU-E and the BZA next month. The owner\, Kai Chu\, would like to meet with the neighborhood to explain what he is doing with the property\, answer any questions and is open to comments before they move further on this.   It is highly recommended that you go look at the property to see what is going on before you get on the LUC call on the 15th so you have a better perspective of the status of the project. \nThere will be no vote on this as it is an appeal. However\, depending on the outcome of the meeting and the information shared with Home Park\, it may generate comments to be sent to the BZA regarding this property. \nThe Zoom meeting can be accessed at this link.

SUMMARY:October Land Use Meeting
DESCRIPTION:We have two items on the agenda for Land Use which will be held via Zoom at 7 pm (link below). \n307 14th Street- V-26-152 Variance Application \nThe owner of this commercial property is looking to reduce the required rear transitional yard setback from 20 feet to 5 feet. Per city of Atlanta zoning code\, commercial properties that abut to a residential property must have a 20 foot transitional yard between properties to mitigate the commercial effect on the residential property. \nThe variance application with photos/graphics can be found at this link. \nTactical Urbanism Project @ GT \nThis Georgia Tech registered student organization will be presenting plans for a curb extension and potential parklet project at the intersection of McMillan St NW and Hemphill Ave NW\, as seen below. They are looking for community feedback and support. Read more about ATL DOT’s Tactical Urbanism program.   \n \nThe Zoom link for this meeting can be found here.
